I almost stopped reading this book many times - it's mottled with both intriguing and painfully slow parts, but the good parts are worth slogging through the bad.

Matthew is less of an ass in this one, and Diana is less helpless.

Turned from a problematic relationship to an abusive one all the good parts of the world building were thrown out ant turned into literal knitting.

I once had this as a DNF, the second time I really had to force myself through it, the third time I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if I wasn't in the mood for it or what. It's a very slow read, but I love all of the new characters and development. There are a few parts that seemed completely unnecessary, but nothing's perfect I suppose.
