I was really excited to read this book. However, I knew it was out of my comfort zone. It has an ACE MC, which I love, but I just wasn't that intrigued by the actual storyline.
The world is similar to our own, but there are vampires and magic and supernatural creatures of many sorts. That was interesting, but it just wasn't for me.
To me, it reads more like a middle grade and I think the dialogue is awkward at times.

HOWEVER, absolutely give this book a try if you think you might like it! A lot of people do love it and you could be one.

Incredibly imaginative world building combined with familiar issues of grief  family and indigeneity

Elatsoe starts off a little slow and I found the dialogue to be a bit stilted, but overall I enjoyed the story a lot. Darcy Little Badger weaves the threads of this mystery together for a satisfying reveal at the end, and the book is full of great characters and meaningful themes.
