Decent idea, well executed. Built things up well but didn’t drag it out. Narrated by two characters one in the first person and one the 3rd. That was a bit strange. But aside from that it was well written and a good read with a decent twist for this genre. Would recommend (but not to fussy readers).
OMG YAS. This book was SO good. I was scared it wouldn't live up to Clare's debut but it SO did! I loved it and can't wait for more of Clare's books!
Wow, just wow. There are few stories that make me completely engrossed in the ending, but this book just has one of those endings that just makes you sit there and stare and nothing thinking for a while and just awed
Very creepy and a great thriller with a few excellent twists.
This review is solely for my personal use, based on my own reading preferences.
Format: Audio
Genre: Psych thriller
Summary: Adhering to a daily routine, women are targeted for a game of sorts
Pros: The first twist was less obvious than the 2nd.
Cons: The second twist was more obvious than the first ;)

I have to say that when i started this book with such high hopes after reading and loving Mackintosh's first book i was a little disappointed. I felt that there were a lot of characters, none of whom i felt any connection to and some kind of odd story that seemed so obvious. However, i should have known that this wasn't going to be such an easy ride. I found myself really enjoying this book as the story got going, trying to figure out who was the criminal mastermind (i didn't guess it correctly), and why they were doing what they were doing (again did not guess this either). Overall this was another twisty thriller that you just have to stay up way past your bedtime to finish. Oh, and i'm never going to have a routine again!
Η Ζόι Ουόκερ, ανακαλύπτει ότι η φωτογραφία της έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί χωρίς να το ξέρει για μια περίεργη αγγελία σε εφημερίδα η οποία το μόνο που αναφέρει είναι ένα τηλέφωνο και ένα site. Η οικογένειά της επιμένει ότι πρέπει να πρόκειται για ομοιότητα, όμως τις επόμενες μέρες εμφανίζονται φωτογραφίες και άλλων γυναικών. Μία εξ αυτών έχει πέσει θύμα κλοπής πρόσφατα. Πρόκειται για τυχαίο γεγονός ή μήπως κάποιος τις παρακολουθεί και τις στοχοποιεί;

This was a 3* until the last few pages, and then PLOT TWIST!!! The characters were a little one-dimensional, but I was in so much suspense the whole time, who cares? I wanted a book that would really help me escape reality, and this one did the trick. Reminded me a little bit of Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train - I predict big things for this author in the future.
What I keep hearing about this book is that it doesn't live up to Clare Mackintosh's debut that was published last year, [b:I Let You Go|23125266|I Let You Go|Clare Mackintosh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1429875945s/23125266.jpg|42673812]. Fortunately for me, [b:I See You|26233572|I See You|Clare Mackintosh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1458476144s/26233572.jpg|46222639] was my first Mackintosh novel, so I'm happy to say that I was able to mostly really enjoy it. Enough that I'll probably read [b:I Let You Go|23125266|I Let You Go|Clare Mackintosh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1429875945s/23125266.jpg|42673812] at some point, with high expectations.

Their pictures will appear in a newspaper advertisement for the website, and soon after they'll become victims of some crime, ranging from theft to murder. When Zoe Walker sees her photo in the paper and discovers a link between the crimes, she's sure that someone's marked her as the next target.
Tense and addicting, this had me on the edge of my seat. While the plot itself is at times slow moving, there's a certain fear and paranoia that permeates the narrative; it leaves you guessing about these characters and their motives, but it also makes you think about your own life, about the privacy settings on your Facebook account, about the dangers of living in this technological fishbowl of a society, where your movements are constantly tracked.
Alternating chapters with Zoe, we get the point of view of Kelly, working with the Murder Investigation Team to track who's behind the series of attacks. I wasn't surprised to learn that Clare Mackintosh had worked in the police force before becoming a writer, given the meticulous level of detail to this side of the story. All in all, it's very well done.
Sure, [b:I See You|26233572|I See You|Clare Mackintosh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1458476144s/26233572.jpg|46222639] requires a certain suspension of disbelief, but I think the mark of a good author is the ability to make you believe something that you might not, ordinarily. It's an outlandish premise, but Mackintosh had me thoroughly convinced. It wasn't until after I finished this book that I started ruminating on flaws in its design - and there certainly are flaws, certain things you need to accept without question (I won't go into detail in order to keep this spoiler-free). But ultimately, I don't care so much about that. This was a good story, and a downright terrifying psychological thriller that leaves you guessing - literally! - until the last page. A really enjoyable reading experience and a great way to spend this snow day.
Also, I pride myself on my ability to figure out whodunnits pretty early on in the story, nine times out of ten. But I have to shamefully admit that I fell for the red herring here. :(
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Netgalley, Berkley, and Clare Mackintosh.
