I won an ARC of this book in a giveaway earlier this year. This is definitely more of a slow burn character study as opposed to a plot driven book with lots of action. It is quite heavy at times and was something that I had to come back to several times over the course of a few months rather than read in one or two sittings. It was interesting to learn about Irani culture and the family dynamics of the characters. It was still a bit slow for me but I enjoyed it overall.

This was an interesting story - and while not intentionally non-linear, it did seem to jump around a bit while progressing the main story. It dealt with a lot of different issues and did dive fully into most of them - felt like there was more that could have been added, but I still appreciated the overally progression by the end.
