A modern fairy tale leaning towards grimmer european folk tales. I liked the blend of sci fi to balance out the main fantasy genre of the plot. The found family was really tender and sweet, and I'm glad it balanced out the harder elements of child abuse and torture. I thought the prose was lovely and painted a very interesting world.
