I LOVED LOVED the concept of this book! It was so interesting and I really enjoyed the romance in it. I feel it was very slow burn at first and then suddenly the characters fell for each other like that. They hated each other and then the next minute were all over each other 🤷🏻‍♀️. However, Lou and Reid were so cute together. I didn’t really feel bored at all in this book and the end had so many plot twists I was shocked at every moment. This book was filled with both witch and witch hunter culture and it was very interesting to see both sides of the story. The ending was so chaotic and god at the same time and the reveal at the end, woah. I was shocked. I liked Lou and Reid but they did make some stupid decisions, so ansel was my favourite 💗💗.
P.S it’s giving nina and Matthias fan fiction too but that’s s good thing 😁😉

Overall a nice story, but it lacked some depth and world building in the beginning of the story. I also had to reread paragraphs to understand the story. And also the end was
a bit anticlimactic.

Serpent & Dove 🐍 Review

“Why the fuck is everyone in this kingdom trying to murder my wife?” - Shelby Mahurin 💖

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.25 stars

I’ve had this book on the shelves since I joined booksta. It was so hyped! But with the hype came a lot of “meh” review too, so I just never got around to it. I opted to listen to the audiobook because why not? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I actually really liked this book! The start was a little slower but I still loved all the witchy vibes. Yes, it was predictable, your classic “I’m a monster and he’s a hunter” love story. But I found it written in quite a humorous way, I loved both Lou and Reid - they were so feisty! 🙈

I have to say, I don’t think I ever really felt the “enemies” part, we defo could’ve had a bit more fighting between them. I did like that it wasn’t just an easy acceptance from Reid, it made it all the more funny when he ended up with coco. Love her btw. 💪🏻

Whilst this book remained pretty surface level, it was a great set up. It left endless possibilities for the series and I already have book 2 ready to go! It’s odd because I wouldn’t necessarily force this book onto people, it’s not mind blowing. I just really enjoyed listening to it! I had my lunch in my car several times just so I could read more 👀

Have you read the series? Which book was your fav? 💕

"A witch and a witch hunter bound in holy matrimony. There was only one way such a story could end–a stake and a match."

This was a little slow paced in the beginning but once it picked up, I couldn't put it down. Lou is the embodiment of Hozier's muse for the song 'Take me to church'. She is so brazenly herself and unabashedly proud of it. She had me laughing out loud. I love her so much. She is obviously my favorite part of this whole book, and I'm interested in picking up the next book in the series just so I can have more of her!
