This book was all I hoped it would be and more.

I loved the witches and the magic they seemed to posses. It was not your typical say-a-spell-and-poof sort of witches. They are the use-blood-and-ritual sort of witches, which is exactly what I needed this time of year.

I loved the characters and how 3 dimensional they were. Each character was represented well and felt like real people. They did not fall flat at all. But Lou did occasionally get on my nerves. There is stubborn, and there is annoying. There is strong, and there is annoying. Girl, you can be strong and still like feminine things for goodness sake. That trope makes me so frustrated.

OMG THE ROMANCE WAS AWESOME! I officially hardcore ship Reid and Lou. They are fabulous together!

However much I loved this book, the world and the magic system was a little flat. I wish they would have been explained more than they were, and I wish there was a map. I never understood how much I needed a map to understand the world. The magic was left unexplained and so was the history of this world and magic itself. Sure we got a little from the legend of Angelica, but that was it and I am craving more world building!

It was a strong book overall, and i give it a solid 3.5 stars!

Wow! I LOVED this and can’t wait to read more by this author.
I adored Lou from the start. She’s absolutely my spirit animal. And Reid is just the sweetest. Their romance is adorable.
Can’t wait to see what happens next.

3.5* Ugh I wanna give this book 5 stars so badly because I loved the romance. I've always had a thing for deeply religious men x "sinful women" like its literally so sexy. In Kingdom of the wicked, she should've ended up with that monk guy. Anyway, I thought the main character was super annoying and obnoxious like she sang this weird song about a girl with big boobs every 2 seconds. And the ending was so stupid like it defeated the entire purpose of the book. But I really enjoyed reading it so 3.5 stars
