I really enjoyed this book!!! The begining is kinda cheesy and the writing at first really is not it but by the end I actually really loved this story! There is sexy true love, (with some spice), tragedy, mermaids, gods/goddesses, soul swapping, time travel, have I mentioned mermaids?, cute sea creature friends, overcoming subjects like sexism in the time period they're in, more tragedy and grief, women banding together! There's just actually a lot of depth to this and I got super pulled into the story!! I was heartbroken at what i thought was the end, but omg the actual ending

I've had this book on my kindle for ages and never read it. It was probably free on Amazon so I just got it one day and then never really felt like reading it. Until today. And boy, was it a good idea to not read this book. I rarely DNF a book that quickly but I just couldn't. The writing and the structure of this book was unbearable for me. The heroine is a spoilt, annoying brat who somehow says every thought out loud. I think that's what bugged me most. Right from the beginning you have no idea if she is actually talking to someone or if she's just voicing her opinions out loud. This book really just bugged me from the first page and so I just gave up.
I'm a big fan of P.C. Cast's adult literature. She has a knack for paranormal romance that isn't just smut. I like the stories behind the romance, as well as the goddess aspect in her books. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series as soon as I can find them.

I like to try and get to around 50% before I give up on a book, but after two weeks of lollygagging this book was due back at the library, and I wasn't sad to see it go. I didn't connect with the main character or the story line. I got a little hung up on how mermaids could possibly have sex and the believably of the plot. I read about vampires, time travel, witches, goddesses, fae, etc, so I understand there is a certain level of impossibility that exists. This stretched my personal limits and was written in a way that I couldn't look past it.
Despite all of this, I think I will give the second book a try before completely giving up on the series.

Allahım ben ne okuyorum dedirten ibretlik kitap. Kurgu tahmin edilebilir ve basit bir kurguydu. Tanrıça Gaea desen komplolara düşmeyecek kadar zeki olmasını beklersin ama nerede... Kolay okunabilir, klasik bir P.C. Cast kitabı olduğunu söyleyebiliriz ama çok bir özelliği yok kitabın. Özellikle son 40 sayfada her şey oldu bittiye geldi ve bence kitap sürükleyici değildi. CC'nin Dylan'a olan aşkını okuyoruz ama bence kitapta yeterince Dylan'a yer verilmemişti. Dolayısıyla Dylan'ı yeterince tanıyabildiğimizi düşünmüyorum. Çok klişe laflarla doluydu Dylan. Bir de o kadar denizkızı olmuşsun, git biraz gez gör... Neden okuduğumu ben de bilmiyorum ama tavsiye etmiyorum.
