This did not take long to read, but I have to say I had a good chuckle over it. It was truly very funny. I'm glad I borrowed it from the library to read it though because it took me less than an hour to read. I'm still a little confused over parts, but I think that's simply because I haven't read the previous novels and the story is as of yet incomplete so there's not a real conclusion and there's definitely more to learn. If you enjoy funny and graphic novels, I think you'll like this.

Yes, it’s incredibly short and not particularly developed, but what this book lacks in plot development it more than makes up for in crazy fun.
It’s a short, quick read that answers just enough plot points to feel complete while leaving enough unsolved to make me look forward to the next volume.
Jones’ art is really expressive and really works to illustrate the absolute craziness that is a Barnaby and Hooker story.
This is more of a side-story than an indispensable read when it comes to Alex and Sam. One could totally skip it and not miss out on anything other than a fun read.

I have never before read a graphic novel and having looked at many of the reviews I was nervous to purchase this book. I am so glad I did not trust my head and bought it.
I really enjoyed reading this book and having pictures to look at, as childish as that sounds. Everyone pictures their favorite characters differently and it was nice to have a visual on how Janet Evanovich thinks they should look.
I still prefer traditional novel style books to the graphic novel it was nice to broaden my horizons.

Meh. That this is only Part 1 of 2 feels like a rip-off. There isn't enough story in Part 1 for it to deserve its own book. Insubstantial.

What I usually like about the author's writing is the wry narration and hero-heroine banter, and this medium (graphic novel) doesn't allow much for that.

Thanks anyway. Seesters over meesters.

2 plus. I was tempted to say 3 minus, but I have no desire to read any more of this series and that means I should round down.

I liked the art, but the story wasn't particularly interesting. It was a bit like watching an 80s detective show, like rip tide, but with less humor and no nostalgia. I couldn't get into any of the characters and the plot was cartoonish and the villain was an incompetent oaf.

Ack...yuck...What a rip-off!! $18 for a graphic novel that doesn't even finish the story. At the end of these chapters, they gleefully tell you "The adventure continues! Troublemaker Book Two...brings you the next chapter in the lives of ....in November 2010."

What?? Is Evanovich desperate for money or something??

I read these a little backwards because I came across book two before book one at the library and wanted to check it out.

The graphic novels gave a great introduction into Alex Barnaby and I look forward to picking up the other books in the series and trying them out.

Book 1 is the set up for how Barnaby and Hooker find themselves with a wooden hand and hunted by some mysterious men for a reason they don’t fully understand. It’s pull of voodoo and intrigue.

Fun graphic novel.
