An emotional and absolutely heartwarming read truly making you ponder the real meanings of life and what is important. Plenty of drama that had me on the edge of my seat every time. Beth O'Leary did it again!!

I love Eileen so much. She's the type of person who wouldn't let old age get her down. I think I would've enjoyed the book more if it was just about Eileen and her whacky escapades in London while trying to find romance. As for her granddaughter Leena, her POV definitely felt more like a subplot instead of a main storyline, even though her POVs dealt with the very serious topic of familial grief. Her character just felt a little too one-dimensional to me and she didn't have the charms that Eileen had. Leena's romantic relationships also didn't have me grinning or kicking my feet.

But hey, if you're in the mood for a wholesome, feel-good book with a very likeable grandmother, you can probably pass the time with this book.

This book really hit the spot right now. Its take on grief really touched me, and I loved the relationships between all the characters. Plus, there was a nice bit of romance mixed in--just enough to add some extra spice without narrowing the full picture of its main character's lives. Every time I read a book like this, I remember why, for so many years, I've loved British women's fiction.

Short and sweet. Nothing crazy, but will have you smiling and escaping for a few hours into a little world filled with lovable characters.
