Super cute YA romance by a Palestinian author and has a Palestinian MMC! I loved this story and the incorporation of pinball is so fun. I also love how the author incorporates the title of the book into some lines of the book as well. ❤️ AND the character development!!!

A bi-racial dual-POV, enemies to lovers, YA rom-com about about first love and family. Similar to 'Tweet Cute' by Emma Lord or 'When Dimple Met Rishi' by Sandhya Menon. Two teens -- August & Whitney -- get trapped together inside August's family's pinball arcade during the worst blizzard in Philly's history. Super cute. My first book by the author but I will be checking out more of his titles.

The title of this one drew me in. Fleetwood Mac? Yes please. But I found I didn’t have anyone to root for. I didn’t like Adam, and I liked Whitney even less. Granted, I am not the intended audience for this book — maybe teens would feel more drawn to the characters.

But here’s the problem with this book that I DON’T think can be overcome with teens: no one under the age of 40 has ever seen a pinball machine, or been in an arcade. And most teens have no idea what an “e-sports cafe” is. If they do, they’re probably not reading a romance novel. My 14-year old didn’t even know what a pinball machine was when I asked her. (She also didn’t get the title, as she is not all that familiar with Fleetwood Mac. Clearly I am raising her wrong.) Between that and not being a gamer, I think the context of the book would be lost on her.

3 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the sneak peek in exchange for my honest opinion!

Despite every word in that blurb being technically true, somehow the story it describes isn't really what we got! That isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just something to be aware of.

I absolutely loved the sense of community around the pinball arcade, mostly expressed through Twitter-esque messages and occasionally through in person discussions. There was a lovely feel to it, and I wish more communities were like that in real life! Those scenes were some of my favourites.

Adam and Whitney went back and forth several times; I feel like we definitely could have lost one or two of those. It's still a good read, but parts of it did seem to drag a but here and there - not quite enough to make me skim but close to! I want a Chris, he's a fantastic character, and both Adam and Whitney's mothers were great.

This is a great read, but just be aware that it's a bit long in some spots! I still definitely recommend it.

This was a charming enemies to lovers YA romance that I had high hopes for but fell a little flat for me. I really enjoyed the Tweet cute vibes between Adam and Whitney who are on different sides of two competing businesses and are forced to spend a night together in a vintage arcade during a snow storm but I just felt the chemistry between the two was kind of lacking for me. The audiobook was well done with two narrators, including Natalie Naudus voicing Whitney but even with one of my favs reading the book it was still just an okay listen.
