I love blindboys strange and twisted tales. Completely bizarre, but giving way to depictions of mental health that feel like they are written for me, personally. Imagery that stays with you.

A wonderful collection of short stories, some are pretty dark in content but Blindboy handles them with humour and empathy for the darkness of his characters conditions. His passion for history, especially Irish history is evident, even when the stories were kind of gross I couldn’t put the book down. Reminds me a bit of some of Chuck Palaniuk’s short stories.

Almost like Roald Dhal's tales of the unexpected but from an Irish pen and with a twenty first century slant, and smoking. Oh and swearing with a beautifully crude, descriptive and at times poetic use of language.
