Fun read

I've been slowly reading "What If?" over several years. It's lived on the side table of my reading chair through that period, ready for me to grab at a moments notice. The anthological format is perfect for little, quickly-digestible nibbles over coffee before heading into work, or when you need to grab a quick smile.

My favorite question answered has to do with a thunderstorm dropping all of its water in a single drop, firstly because the thought experiment is incredible theater, second because the fictitious answer takes place in my home state of Kansas, and thirdly because of shinning alliteration like "supreme rain reigns supreme."

I listened to this book on Audible Prime Channels and Wil Wheaton has the perfect sarcastic tone and delivery to read this book.

Having been a big fan of xkcd and the What If website submissions, I really had to read this. It definitely does not disappoint.

A Little Romp in Science

A great example of how to teach science while still having fun with it; all the questions are interesting, explored in interesting ways with a good deal of depth.

A collection of strange collections asked by the author compiled together into a funny and interesting read. For someone with little scientific background I can happily say this was easy to follow and still had me thinking throughout.

A funny, interesting read answering some bizarre and unthought of questions for me. I wish I’d read this in bits over a longer period of time as I did get bored towards the end. I didn’t understand any the maths - not the authors fault - but I still got the answers and had a laugh. Love Munroe’s writing style.

This was fun; I read Munroe's comic xkcd for many years and I like the way his mind works. The explanations are clear enough for someone - me - with no physics background, and the illustrations helped clarify the scenarios as well as adding whimsy and character.
