So fun. Loved it.
It’s good to geek out and to fill your brain with how to process hard questions.

This book is funny, clever and quirky, I love it!
This book answers to questions that can seem dumb with as much scientifical seriousness as possible.
The topics are (very) diverse, going from the power output of Master Yoda to swimming in a nuclear reactor pool without a proper suit.
Always interesting, always funny, Randall Munroe captivated me throughout the entire book.
Every chapter made me say "One last chapter and I'll have a break".
This book made me understand how tiny we are in this huge universe.
Every chapter contains goofy gags portraying the absurd situations (with adorable stickmen!).
These sketches are perfect to take a break between two complex mathematical formulas.
Unfortunately, patterns start to emerge after the first half of the book.
It was rare, but some questions are similar in the way they have been answered.
In conclusion, this book is interesting and very funny.
I really love this book, it made me realize that knowledge can come from unexcepted places!

Excellent for the engineers in your life! Great questions -- though I wish he'd answered more of the ones he deemed troubling. The illustrations were clear. The footnotes, however, were somewhat annoying to navigate on the Kindle version. If there were a second book of "What If" I'd read that too!
This book is incredibly entertaining, and the author's sense of humor shines throughout. You'll not only learn but also enjoy some light-hearted jokes and laughter along the way. It's a highly recommended read for students above the 8th grade since it will be more entertaining and educational for them.
If you don't have a background in science, some parts may be a bit challenging to grasp. Despite this, the book is engaging and informative. I'm eagerly looking forward to reading the sequel!

This was quite the book. I've never heard of his website but I might have to start checking up on it. The author does a great job of taking what could potentially be a very technical and dry explanation (even when the questions and answers are "out in left field") and injects his humor and witty pictures to break it all up and keep the reader interested from question to question.
