A dream world where being a lesbian is in itself a survival tactic and heteronormativity will get you mauled by a she-beast. Funnily gruesome, darkly humorous.

Book 📖: 3/5 stars
Audiobook 🎙️: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Three takeaways:
• Honestly this book is a 2.5 but for its originality alone earns it a bump up.
•Highly reco the audiobook! There's 5 different narrators who do a great job with the material. (Currently the audiobook is free on Audible!)

What I really loved about this is book is its originality. A reality tv, lesbian, bigfoot, horror mystery it was! Well written and unique ways of injecting intrigue and context between chapters that were creative and added to the lore.

Unfortunately there is so much here that I wish this book was longer and that things didn't wrap up as quickly as it does. I really started liking the characters, themes, and lore but as soon as that happens. Bam! We're done! I wish there'd be a sequel but I doubt that will happen.

I recommend if you like a quirky, short book that explore themes of social media, women relationships, and how we value ourselves. Also there's a female bigfoot so...

Delightfully gross, I wish there was more about Patricia and not just at the end, but this book was such a great quick read and I loved the setting as a fellow PNWer

This was slow in some areas and I didn’t connect with it immediately, but I’m glad I stayed with it because I LOVED the ending. The writing is very descriptive, you get good character background, a good amount of blood and gore, and you have lgbt characters. Renee was my favorite character, she’s the smartest character and she finds herself through everything. I enjoyed the formatting of the book; some chapters were from character perspectives, some from blogs about the show, and some were love letters. Really cute ending. I have discovered every book I like I want a film adaptation for.

This was a gripping read. I don’t read a lot of horror or gore but I was thoroughly glued to the page. The characters are all pretty morally grey and unlikeable, and I enjoyed the exploration of the reality TV genre.

Just such a fun read. I loved Renee as a character,
she made such a great final girl for this story,
and the romance between Maggie and Kathy that's explored through letters in the last third of the book genuinely almost brought me to tears. A win for the lesbians.

Such a weird book. Part satire of modern media, part slasher. I think the slasher part was more effective than the satire. Leaves many questions unanswered, and I wish we saw more of Patricia (the sasquatch).
