Tyler and Seraphina's relationship is everything! I thought I liked Chase Carter but damn Tyler Donahue is something else! I love the whole brother's best friend/forced proximity trope!

Shutout is a delightful, hockey romance that completely delivers on the forced proximity and brother’s teammate tropes. Avery Keelan crafts an utterly addictive story around Seraphina (Sera) and Tyler, two characters who initially believe their anonymous one-night stand was a mistake to forget, only to find fate—and a new roommate situation—has other plans. What immediately earns this book its stars is the chemistry and the fantastic character dynamic. Sera, the sunshine heroine dealing with ADHD, and Tyler, the broody, tattooed goalie carrying immense anxiety and pressure, are perfect foils. Their relationship development felt organic, moving naturally from palpable tension to a deep, protective partners. I especially appreciated the inclusion of neurodivergent representation, handled with care and depth, which added a wonderful layer of realism to Sera’s character arc. If you love a spicy, character-driven story featuring a goalie with a secret soft spot and a heroine who shines despite her challenges, this is a must-read. It’s a definite winner with an earned happily ever after.

so cute

I LOVED this one. I wish it had been longer honestly. Wished we had gotten more. Tyler is uuuuhhhhhhh everything honestly. One of my favorite hockey men to date.

As the president of the "third-act conflict" hate club, this book has my stamp of approval.

As this is a book with mental health representation, it tackled a few of my good friends: anxiety and ADHD. It feels like Tyler and Seraphine both live in my head. Their thought patterns and spirals are what I have suffered many times, so it was nice to feel seen once in a while.Their way of sorting their priorities and navigating life have impressed me. And with the romance progressing, Tyler was no less than a yearner. Oh did I say Tyler is a walking, talking, tatted, one hell of a green flag?

Final thoughts: I have giggled, kicked my feet through the whole book. They are stinking cute. And I'm salty and I'm jealous.

Well written, but it wasn’t the lighthearted hockey college romance I was expecting.

Additional CW/TW: underage drinking, drug use,
mfc tests positive for BRCA gene and deals with seeing a doctor and making decisions about her future
