i liked this book better than the first book! i wasn’t a huge fan of the authors writing style in the first one - it felt a little juvenile/beginnerish. but you can def see the growth in book 2! i loved ty and sera, and maybe it was because its brothers best friend, forced proximity, secret relationship, but it was good! rating 4.5 only because it felt it was a little rushed once they finally confessed their feelings and she just found out the test results. there just wasn’t any wrap up there. did he make it to the NHL? is he on a farm team? what happened after three year since she found out her test results?? im hoping book three will be a little
more interconnected, but i doubt it will be.

I love a roommates to lovers moment.

Not a bad book. But like what happened with chase, is he a carrier too. How did chase react to sera's news??? Like these are the things i want to know. Did tyler make it into the nhl?

Another amazing book by Avery Keelan. I have been waiting for this book since reading offside, and I can confidently say that it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the relationship between Tyler and Seraphina. The banter between them and the eventual relationship was everything. The only negative thing I have to say about this book is that compared to Offside, I feel like we didn't get that connection between main character and reader. I would have liked the book to be a bit longer to help form that connection with the characters, I did feel that their relationship timeline was a bit rushed.

Gah I simply adore the Rules of the Game world, and I was SO excited to dive into Hades and Tink's story! And Avery did not disappoint. The story was sweet, lower angst, ultra sexy, and just so delicious. I loved the brother's friends/forced proximity tension that we got, and Hades ends up being such a sweet and yummy book boyfriend. AND HOLY HOTNESS- such a dirty talker with his pierced....appendage...NOM NOM NOM. Their chemistry is really precious, and I loved how their relationship evolved and what a deep connection they made as friends. Not to mention some of the real-life issues that they face (and some that I've faced myself) I found really impactful. The pages kept turning! There were a few elements I wanted to see a bit more fleshed out, some loose threads I was curious about- but perhaps we'll see more in future stories. And the couple's journey was just right. Hoping to get to listen to it on audio since I loved the first in the series on audio too!

So I think AK just isn’t for me. This is the second book I’ve read by her - I like the characters and group she creates, I obviously love the tropes (college hockey, brothers teammate, forbidden, forced proximity, mental health/adhd rep, etc) but the writing just isn’t doing it for me. I started skimming 20% in which isn’t great.

I will say, the smut is smutting

I absolutely loved this book!! I really enjoyed Offside, and I was so excited to hear about this one. I loved so much about this book. The main characters had the sweetest relationship. I really loved the openness and honesty throughout their relationship. This book also tackled some pretty heavy content, but it was handled so well.
