I fell head over heels over Tyler and seraphina their nicknames tink and hades but the storyline of health issues and mental health was very informative and it brought the flood of tears out the epilogue was done so beautiful and I love the support Tyler and seraphina had for each other the spice was very nice
loved it
I really loved it. Their chemistry was there from the very beginning and it definitely only grew. The story also had its own originality compared to the typical athlete/rich girl vibes, so it was nice to see a story that's not completely like the rest

I really only have myself to blame I should know better than to read the epilogue

I enjoyed this more than offside, but not by much. I liked this set of characters more than the last, but it still was not all I was hoping for. It could be me though, I’m in a slump so I feel like I may have enjoyed this more at a different time. Definitely not bad, I will give this author another chance at a later time when I’m not slumpy
Love the depth this author shows in this, and I love the self awareness of our two main characters in dealing with health and mental health. Appreciate the inclusion and representation of ADHD. Personally, I Loved Ty more than Chase (book 1) but the group dynamics cannot be beat. Hoping for a Reid/Chloe book next, and I would still love a Dallas/Siobhan novella or something
I enjoyed this wayyyy more than the first one, I LOVED the sneaking around and the emotional damage at the end was the cherry on top (that sounds depressing)

SHUTOUT, the second installment in Avery Keelan's hockey series, Rules of the Game, delivers a scorching hot romance that will leave readers breathless. With an enticing blend of the brother's best friend and roommate trope, Tyler and Seraphina's story takes off with an unforgettable one-night stand that evolves into something much deeper.
From the moment Tyler and Sera reconnect, the chemistry between them crackles with intensity. Keelan has a real talent for crafting natural interactions that make the connection between the characters feel genuine and effortless. Their banter and electric exchanges create a tension that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The steamy scenes are expertly written and leave you fanning yourself, as Tyler and Sera's desire for each other jumps off the pages. The author excels at delivering top-tier heat that will leave readers fully satisfied (and the FMCs for that matter).
While the romance and passion are undeniably captivating, there were moments when it felt like certain conflicts were wrapped up a little too quickly. Given the depth of the characters and the intricate dynamics at play (i.e.: friendships tested and lost, medical diagnosis, teammate drama) an additional 50 pages would have allowed for more in-depth resolutions. Nevertheless, the overall story remains engaging and enjoyable.
SHUTOUT beautifully showcases Keelan's ability to create multifaceted characters that you can't help but root for. Tyler's reformed player background, although not explored extensively, adds an intriguing layer to his character. Sera's arrival as Tyler's new housemate, and the sister of his teammate, Chase from book one, sets the stage for a captivating dynamic filled with both passion and complications.
With its steamy romance and a touch of forbidden love, SHUTOUT delivers on its promise of an enticing hockey romance. Avery Keelan's writing keeps you engaged and invested in the characters' journey, leaving you eager for more. While a slightly more in-depth resolution would have been ideal, the book still satisfies with its sizzling chemistry and a story that will keep you turning the pages.
