I'm amazed at how perfectly these stories have captured and embodied everything that the Harry Potter stories did. They feel incredibly similar and read alike as well. I am so thrilled I found this fan series because it's incredible. Anyone who loved the HP novels should 100% read all of these. I love the inclusion of JKR as a character as well.

This whole series was amazing! I love the Harry Potter books and was sad when the series ended, so I got these as soon as I heard about them. I'm so glad I did! I highly recommend this series if you felt sad when the Harry Potter series ended!

I started reading this fan fic series about a decade ago, and then rediscovered them recently and decided to re-read and finish the 2 I’d never read (4&5.)

There are plot holes and grammatical errors and some very strange relationship pairings, but overall, the magic of the OG Harry Potter series is there. When I finished this, I had that gut ache — like you’ve just lost an old friend. I haven’t had that from HP since 2007. Thanks George Lippert, for your creative drive and for sharing these with us.

Since this is the last book in the James Potter series, there are many things that (finally) come together. True allegiances are revealed, there is a significant battle at Hogwarts, and a dragon runs amok in London. Sounds pretty exciting huh? Before I get too far, I will say that after finishing this book, I do feel like things were wrapped up pretty well. I am always left feeling, to some extent, that there should be more at the end of a series. This is true for both books and TV shows, and I think it is a common feeling, but I don’t know for sure. The author did bring things together in a way that worked out in a surprising way and even revealed some mysteries that were introduced early in the book or even earlier in the series. I’ll describe more later.

I give JP and the Crimson Thread an 8 out of 10 for enjoyability and a 2 out of 5 for readability. You will want to be fairly awake to read this book, and it will help you stay awake and interested because it is well-written. If you have read this book, please leave a comment and let us know what you thought of it!

Reparo!

I had high hopes for this last instalment of the James Potter series, and I was a bit disappointed to be honest.

At some points it felt a bit... "choppy"? I don't know, to me it just didn't feel as much a part of the series as the other books. To me it felt like some parts were written for the sake of "needing a reason" for a certain event to happen further along. It felt less natural than the other 4 books.

I loved the storyline of the complete series, though. I think the author did an amazing job at it - chapeau Mr Norman Lippert!
