“She was never theirs anyway. Not really. From the moment the songbird tried to appeal to a serpent, she was mine.”

Ahh love this possessive pirate so much. Fun, readable romantasy with all the tropes done right! True enemies to lovers with dual pov, masked man, touch her and die, who did this to you?, I can fix him, kill for her,
bonded pair w/telepathy, bow to your queen

Wow! I did not expect this book to be so good, but it absolutely was worth the time. Definitely heed the trigger warnings, though, because this book can get dark.

The characters were relatable and real. The plot was twisting. The world was alive and interesting. There was drama and intrigue and poison and PIRATES!

I can’t wait to read the sequel!

(I did find a handful of typos, otherwise it probably would’ve gotten 5 stars)

Bro literally kidnapped her and i was giggling and kicking my feet ✨

Erik Bloodsinger, the king of the Ever Kingdom is out for revenge and what better way to strike than by kidnapping his enemy’s daughter, Livia. 👀😛

Read this if you like:
- Pirates 🏴‍☠️
- Romantasy - heavy on the romance
- Dark romance
- Touch her and ☠️
- A pretty dark shade of morally grey
- Inner circle

The tension at the beginning of the book had me screaming!! My only complaint is that the plot was VERY much second to the romance, but it is a fantasy-romance sooo that’s on me. I felt that most of the plot was spent on the Ever King’s ship while they were traveling from Livia’s kingdom to Erik’s. I’m not mad about it, but I had different expectations. Hopefully book 2 will be more action packed. This was genuinely such a fun read, and I can't wait to continue the series (especially with that cliffhanger?!?)

Side note: can more authors start including character art IN THE BOOK? Please?! That was life changing fr.

I had such a great time with this book and will definitely be picking up more by LJ Andrews 💖

Read this book if you love;
• Enemies-to-Lovers
• Villain Gets the Girl
• Reluctant Fated Mates
• Pirates, Fae, and Sirens
• ‘Touch her/him and you die’

If you love to read a story where the villain gets the girl, this book is definitely it and you’ll have to check this out!!

Well-paced and great writing style without any info-dump at the beginning. You’ll also learn to love the characters and explore the world building as the story goes.

The story is told in dual POV, Erik and Livia – the main characters.
Erik can be slightly blood thirsty at times but beneath that is a man with soft heart and I really like getting to know him and his background story.
As for Livia, she cares deeply for her loved ones and I also like her character development especially when she started to show another side of her and I'm hoping to see more of her ‘dark side’ in the next book.

I loveeeee the slow burn enemies-to-lovers from this book, it wasn’t rushed and developed slowly as they began to discover the truth and not seeing one another as enemies anymore.

The last few chapters were my favorite parts of the story, it was quite action-packed with great display of power combine with some sweet and spicy moments from Erik and Livia!
Moreover, the ending totally surprised with that twist! A great way to end the book and makes me wish I have book 2 right now!

Overall, it’s a fantastic story with epic world building and loveable characters making it almost impossible to put down!
I am truly looking forward to read the next book in this series!

Thank you to Book of Matches Media and the author for giving me an e-ARC of the book and for having me on this book tour. I’m leaving this review voluntarily!
