Whisked Away had everything I crave in a romantasy—lush worldbuilding, a vivid setting that pulls you in, and the added spice of an omegaverse with a why-choose romance. The author’s attention to detail made the world feel alive, and the strong, resilient FMC absolutely stole my heart. Despite her youth, she carried herself with grace and hard-earned strength. The found family dynamic was everything, and the two MMCs? Utter perfection—each bringing something unique to the table in a way that made them feel incomplete without the other. The slow burn was beautifully done, full of tension and emotion. I’m already counting down the days until the next book!

"The best stories don't have endings. They grow. They change. And everyone involved gets to write them."
I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to Enola for sending a copy my way!
The character art of Whisked Away is what made me to request an ARC. I am so glad I did because I’ve found a new favourite. This story has the perfect balance of lush, complex fantasy world-building with a swoony, sweet omgeaverse. It’s a combination that I am obsessed with. Queue the book hangover!
Princess Rei felt content in her life as a beta. She planned to marry her childhood sweetheart and travel the world with him on his ambassadorial duties. Her plans and choices are taken from her when she presenxwts late as an Omega. Now she is a bargaining chip. Her parents throw a tournament in her honour, inviting all the eligible Alphas of the land where the prize will be her hand in marriage. Prince Kaelen and Alarik of Asadia are late entries to the tournament. They are captivated by Rei and do what they can to ensure they win each challenge. Kaelen’s charm and Alarik’s strength call to something deep inside Rei, which threatens to unravel her heart and the unwavering beliefs she has about alphas and omegas. Determined to reclaim control, Rei plots her escape, but a betrayal leaves her stranded. Will she remain anonymous while finding refuge in this new world?
Rei’s life changes in an instant the moment she presents late an omega. My heart breaks for her as she struggles with this new identity. She is now a political prize. She’s no longer Rei but Aethonia’s Omega Princess. You can feel how suffocated she feels with this turn of events. Rei makes a snap decision to reclaim her freedom. Things go pear-shaped at several points, even after finding sanctuary. Thankfully, she finds herself two worthy Alphas who show her that being an omega isn’t something to be ashamed of and doesn’t mean she has to lose her identity.
This book highlights everything I adore about romances. We have three people who are struggling under the weight of their family & country’s expectations. They are treated more like chess pieces rather than people. It’s no surprise that beneath the extravagant luxury, they are lonely. It’s through their budding relationship they have breathing room to be themselves without all the burdens of being royal. I swooned at how Kaelen and Alarik courted Rei. This is an MFM. Kaelen and Alarik are half-brothers and nothing sexual happens between them, but they don’t have any issues sharing Rei. The romance here is deliciously slow burn and explodes into one of my favourite heat scenes.
Honestly, Whisked Away has some of the best world-building I’ve read in any fantasy book. We gain detailed insights into the various customs, resources & languages of the countries we encounter. I can't wait for the rest of the books in this series to discover more of the world.
Safe to say, Wisked Away will be on my top reads of 2025 because I cannot stop thinking about it. I need the sequel ASAP. If you are a long-time fantasy romance reader who’s been interested in trying an omegaverse, you need to read this. And on the flip side if you are a fan of omegaverse who’s not sure where to start with fantasy romance, this is 100% the book for you.

When I first saw a description of this book, I immediately added it to my TBR. This was months before I joined NetGalley and started leaning into review writing. Being accepted to review it as an ARC was an unexpected joy. And after completing it, I have to say reading it was worth all of the anticipation.
Whisked Away is my first foray into the Omegaverse, and it absolutely delivered. The story revolves around Reiyana, the newly-awakened Omega princess of Aethonia, one of the nine kingdoms of Issoirea. She despises the caste system in place in the world that now renders her future desires moot. Alphas are invited to a contest to prove their worth, at the end of which, she is to declare one of them her future husband. Her now-abandoned relationship with a Beta male, Castiel, grates, and she refuses to see any Alpha as anything but what she's known them to be her entire life: cruel, unrelenting, and violent men who do not care for the safety or choices an Omega may long for. When half-brother Alpha princes, Kaelendrin and Alarik, win the competition on a lark, everything changes. Reiya is almost immediately forced to confront the future she's wanted and the reality she's been given, and nothing of the world is what it seems.
I greatly enjoyed this one! While some elements that I've heard of in the Omegaverse aren't quite to my liking, this was a great introduction, as it reads like a standard romantasy with a sweeping backstory and intricate worldbuilding. It's clear there's so much more to unravel in the series, and I am very eager to discover what's coming next.
So many thanks to NetGalley and the Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for providing me with a digital ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

♥️ The writing in this book is beautiful! I was so drawn in by the romantic feeling of the prose, and the lush, luxurious descriptions of this world! You could see, smell, hear, and taste everything! This book quickly wormed its way under my skin through the feel of the language alone! Bravo! Enola M Douglas is definitely an author to follow for more!!!!
🧡Whisked Away beautifully explores the topic of duty in relation to designation/caste and royalty. The relationship that duty has with freedom is also an important topic for Princess Reiyana. I loved the brother dynamic between Kaelen & Alaric! They complement each other so well, and really balance the romance. While there is top-notch spice, there is SO MUCH plot! It is really well balanced! The connection of the deities with designations was so unique, I really found that to be an engaging aspect!
😍Also, this cover is GORGEOUS! I am IN LOVE! Let’s be real, it matches the vibrant writing! I think I am going to need a physical copy for my bookshelf so I can just stare at its beauty sometimes!
🩷I cannot wait to read more in this series & world! Consider me hooked!🩷

Sometimes books just sound too good. I actually have to request fewer review copies, but when I came across this book on Netgalley I just couldn't help myself. The author granted me one and after the initial shock, since this is quite a big book, I started reading.
Although this is quite a big book I was intrigued from start to finish. I was always looking forward to continuing reading. I was always curious what was gonna happen next. It's quite a commitment to start this book, but it's absolutely worth it. The pacing also feels quite natural. I wouldn't have wanted the book to be faster. I for sure wouldn't have wanted the author to rush things more. After all, especially the heroine has quite some growing to do and that simply takes time.
I also loved how this book was written in such a way that we got to see quite a lot from the world it's taking place in. The world is a lot bigger and I'm already curious about the kingdoms we haven't heard or seen anything of. However, I never felt lost, I never felt overwhelmed. The author painted clear and beautiful pictures of the kingdoms we do get to see. I like how they each have their own custom and culture and how there are so many people with their own dreams and wishes inhabiting them.
The true stars of the story were the characters, though. The heroine grows a lot throughout the story. Although the circumstances are forcing her to grow and learn, it does feel natural and realistic. I also loved the connection between her and her alphas. Their dynamic was touching, respective and also developed naturally. All three of them were also layered and complicated. Most of all they were all easy to like and root for. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Whisked Away will whisk you away on a tale of adventure, love, and found family. The storyline kept me turning (digital) pages and devouring the tale.
While there is spice- and spicy spice at that- it’s not overwhelming. Like a perfect Thai curry, Whisked Away will satisfy an adventurous reading appetite.
