Wow. In the middle of reading I went to my local bookstore and ordered a copy to keep. My friends around me are tired of hearing me talk about the book I'm sure, but I finally finished it. A book has never felt so salient for the times.

The author also keeps repeating “filterworld” to try and make it catch on.

While I agree with many points these essays bring up, I think the wider roll of marketing is ignored for an easier villain in the computerized algorithm. The idea of the context of things being lost as social media changes feels very ponient with Instagram today, it's a point that gets lost in a lot of anecdotes and would have been better served in a standalone essay. These good points feel belabored for page count.
