I liked the premise and hopeful solutions. But I wish it had a bibliography or footnotes. I also wish there was some more exploration of the less beneficial aspects of individual curators (ie access, and how they too - like algorithms - are susceptible to underrepresenting the already-underrepresented).

I was really disappointed by this one. Filterworld suffers from a serious case of Could Have Been an Essay syndrome, with Chayka repeating a lot of the same points — cafes look alike now! all the apps changed to algorithms at the same time! — over and over until you forget why you care.
