We're starting to learn more about the family curse, the zodiac signs and we're getting to know more family members in this volume. Touru seems like a great girl, but maybe a little too perfect? i loved the arc with Hatori and his lost love.

more fun Anime. I guess I'm rating these three because... Anime still isn't my "thing" but I'm enjoying it a lot. I knocked this one out in one sitting. haha

I have read the cute, heartbreaking story of Fruits Basket years ago. And I read it about 3 or 4 times, maybe more. The story is a bit cliche, but the characters are memorable.

A story about closed off loners that broken, depressed and sad individuals hoping for a happiness they could never achieve. Each characters deals with the pain and loneliness differently, learning how to embrace happiness and bloom into individuals they never thought they could be.

Its beautifully written, heartwarming, with relatable emotions anyone can feel. This is one any manga avid reader should go through at least once. A classic that should honestly be recommend by anyone.

Do I recommend it:

One difference between the character of Momiji in the anime and in the manga is that in the manga his mother is German, so he is half-German and occasionally says German phrases. I wonder if the occasional spelling of Momitchi instead of Momiji was due to this?

One thing I really liked that was introduced in this volume's format was the index of sound effects at the end. I know how to read the two phonetic Japanese alphabets, but it was interesting to know how the sound effects translated. I think it really added to the reading experience.

- I want to meet this author. She seems awesome! I love her little notes randomly placed throughout the book.

- Not my favorite style of anime I've seen, but it's good.

- I want to learn how to make onigiri!

- I would make a better rabbit that Momiji. I can't believe my zodiac is the weird German kid.

- Yuki is such a girl!

- What is with the sea horse!?!?! There is no sea horse zodiac!

- This love triangle is really buggin' me.

- Tohru has some amazing friends!
