Kind of fun, but not compelling enough for me to continue the series.

Still fun! I am excited to finally get past where the anime ended!

Still very light but readable. Really not doing much for me. But not objectionable. A bit too sweet. The characters are slowly starting to be distinguishable from each other. A lot more volumes to go though. I'm told the books get better, I can hope.

This thing becomes more addictively crack-tastic the more you read of it. I mean, I'm sitting there thinking 'I'm reading something which involves a half-German, half-Japanese boy with an odder dress sense than me, who turns into an animal if he's hugged by someone of the opposite sex. And I'm liking it.' I'm still finding Tohru's character a little hard to swallow, but there are times when I can't help myself from liking her.

Volume 2 of Fruits Basket introduces us to two new members of the Zodiac and both are sweet in their own ways; Momiji who is simply adorable and Hatori who is stoically caring; this volume gives us a lot of Hatori's backstory and even as a reread it makes me want to cry!
