Ok! Book 1 was nice but book 2 has THOROUGHLY piqued my interest and I'm excited to dive into book 3.

Me: "ugh this is kind of annoying to read"
Also me: "must. know. what. happens!!!!"

Idk how to describe what bothers me about this book/series...maybe it's the stakes feel low and I don't feel a ton of chemistry between the 2 love interests?? Like, sure, they're horny for each other, but their non-sexual interactions are either stiff social functions or David being internally self-hating/externally weird and awkward?? I get that in romance novels there's inherently some suspension of disbelief, but what do these two see in each other??? Besides thinking the other is super hot

The title is Beguiled but I think Chambers truly means bewitched- body and soul!

David and Murdo are fighting their feelings, the times, and their beliefs constantly. Readers/listeners will be invested in their ...friendship.
While they don't recognize their feelings, you absolutely will.

Bewitched, I say!
