I enjoyed this so so much! I've been sitting on this book for awhile, because I've always seen mixed reviews but I am so glad I decided to grab it off my shelf and read this! I do agree with people who have said the audiobook was enjoyable, because I could totally understand that with how this book is set up as an interview, BUT I think in all, it wouldn't have mattered. I enjoyed the story, the setting, how TJR made you really feel like you were there. This story was full of sad moments, happy moments, beautiful moments, and heartbreaking moments. It was real, and raw at times. It was just easy to get lost in this and feel what the characters were feeling. Absolutely loved it

This Book!!!!!!! I absolutely loved it. I know that some people did not necessarily like the way it was written in an interview type of way, and I will admit this took me a couple of pages to adjust, but then it definitely grew on me!!! I loved the pacing of this book and how you could just feel the personality of each character and you could feel their frustrations as well as their sympathy and their excitement. I was holding the book close to my chest at times as well as gripping it to prevent myself from launching it across my room. As someone who enjoys the rock and roll genre of music, this book took me behind the scenes in a fiction version of a rock band in the 70's and all the chaos and parties going on. I would GLADLY read this book again for the first time if I had the opportunity to.

I finally got around to reading Daisy Jones & The Six. I’ve been wanting to read it since it came out but kept putting it off because of lack of time or because I was reading something else and because I knew that it is the type of book that deserves a devotion of time put towards it. And then I wound up getting the audiobook from my library after I had gotten a physical copy. And I just have to say that I recommend the audiobook. It adds to the experience of this story to have the audiobook.

The book is told in a sort of interview format about the rise and fall of a fictional rock band and that format really lends itself to be listened to mostly because the audiobook is performed really well and the distinctive voices of the characters just give the book a lot of life.

And I love what the book accomplishes in this format and how the story is revealed, the insight that each character has to their own experience and all of the things that some of them knew and that others didn’t. We see the story through the eyes of the band and those around them and it immerses you in what happened during those years from the complicated relationships, to what it meant to be in the music industry at the time and having success, and how all of it worked.

Each of the characters is also very distinctive and become fully formed because of how each of the other characters describe them and view them. Overall, it’s an enjoyable story. It sucks you right in. You want to know the ins and outs of the band and you want to know more about the enigmatic Daisy.

Loved it even more the second time. The casting of the narrators/actors on the audiobook was so perfect.

I am so glad I read this book. The characters had me laughing, crying, and turning the mirror on myself. The method of story-telling through interviews was so fun for a fiction book. I am so glad that I listened to the audiobook while reading along- I strongly suggest listening to the audiobook because it's very well-casted. Every character has their own actor and it really enriched the experience.

I used to care when men called me difficult. I really did. Then I stopped. This way is better.

First read - Jul 2021: Honestly I don't know how to start this review. I'm so shaken up. Is so hard to put my thoughts into words. This book BROKE me. There is not another word that can describe what this book made me. Daisy Jones and The Six broke my heart to pieces and I don't know when I will recover from that. Read this story was such a wild and wonderful ride. Taylor Jenkins Reid as a writer and storytelling is incredible, her talent is impressive. And this book, oh my god, is one of the best books that I had the privilege to read. I can't remember when was the last time that I'd cried so much with a book. Seriously even now I'm in tears just writing this review and my chest is feeling heavy.

This book is a masterpiece. The deepness in the characters, the story, the music, the angst, EVERYTHING IS AMAZING.

Read Daisy Jones and The Six, pls, I'm begging you all.

And, again, WHAT. A. FUCKING. MASTERPIECE.

that's it. that's my review.

I remember realizing I had even more power in me than I had originally thought. That I had more to give, more depth and range, than even I knew about myself.

Second read - Oct 2021: I'M FUCKING BROKEN AGAIN. WHY I DID THIS TO MYSELF???? But, I regret nothing. Now I love this book more than I did 3 months ago.

What a wonderful ride.
