This was my first Sarah Addison Allen Book, and it won't be my last. There was so much I enjoyed about this book. I really liked that stories and secrets revealed themselves throughout the book. And I really liked the overall feel of the book. I felt like I was a part of their world. I do wish there was more back story on Paloma. I have questions! But, all in all, I loved spending time with these characters and was sorry for it to end. I will miss them.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I definitely enjoyed this book! It was a very easy read. It only took me as long as it did because of the holidays being mixed in along with some extremely busy and stressful weeks left not much time for leisure reading.

In my mind, I would consider this on the closer to young adult/teen fiction than adult but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The story was simple and straight forward. I very much enjoyed the magical elements of the book but also found that if you removed those, the story wouldn't change much at all as the focus on the main characters does not rely on the fantastical bits.

The story brings wonderful 'found family' feel and you get backgrounds and stories of a core group of characters as opposed to a single main character. I was definitely left wanting a further dive into these characters' lives upon the end of the book, wanting to know how their futures panned out and how the relationships grew and changed between them all. The ending did feel a little rushed.

But all in all, a good read. Simple, fun, and heartwarming.

A beautiful group of stories intertwined by a place significant to each character. The characters and their stories were fantastic and unique. I could not put it down.
