This one was okay. I didn't really understand or know what the point of the book was for a lot of it. A girl moves to this condo complex where her now dead mother used to live. She never fit in with her dad, stepmom, and step-siblings. Other residents are reclusive until the most annoying resident dies. The girl, Zoey, gets the residents to talk and be friends. A story about the ghosts of our past impacting our present lives/futures and letting go of them. Meh

wish could rate this a million stars. haven't read anything like it, and it's SO beautifully written. Dealing with a recent death in my family, this book really puts into perspective how we hold on to those that we love and the different ways in which people deal with loss and trauma. What could really appreciate most is that even though this is a somewhat heavy topic at hand, this wasn't a SAD book. I found myself tearing up towards the end, but in a sweet way, not depressing. I seriously recommend this book to everyone.

One of her best. Just what I needed. I'm disappointed that the white woman is a henna artist, though. I feel like she could've been a face painter or something similar and not needed to delve into cultural appropriation.

I liked this but the end left me feeling like I needed more closure. It took a while for the action to pick up, but I loved reading about the picturesque dellawisps and whatnot. It was a relaxing read.
