Hard to rate. I mean, I have to love it pretty much on principle. She seemed to try to make the collection inclusive, and the mix of recent modern and historical figures was a nice change. Bouncing around also kept it from getting too dark despite all the struggles.

(I was not a huge fan of the art, it weirded me a little that the same figures could be shown as light or dark or just outlines, and wonder if it might not be the best choice if it comes off as whitewashy on POC.)

One thing I desperately missed was any sort of footnoting or bibliography. Like Agnodice, while it's a great story, is generally considered a legendary figure. I think I've been spoiled by the citations of rejected princesses!

This graphic novel is perfect! I love the stories of all these amazing women! I like the playful, casual way the stories are written. The illustrations are so interesting and I love the style. I especially love the gorgeous two page spreads on the woman after her story. I really loved this graphic novel and I would love to see this book everywhere!

A copy was provided to me through Net Galley for an honest review.

Excellent graphic non-fiction. The selection of "rebel ladies who rocked the world" is inspired and the illustrations are charming and humorous. Definitely a book to give to my daughter as she enters her teen years.

advance PDF - Bagieu turns in a delightful set of short stories spotlighting the accomplishments of women throughout world history. I very much appreciated the diverse historical and geographical settings, and of course, the art is charming. I just wish the stories could get a little more in depth and offer a little more complexity to give a full portrait of each woman. These aren't full biographies, so it's not fair to expect that of the book, but the brevity of each portrait also keeps it from gaining a full five star rating, because it is otherwise very good.

This book was amazing! Each story was so new and inspiring. I had this one checked out from the library and before I was even halfway through, I went out and bought a copy to keep forever. This is a book I will surely be revisiting for Bagieu's amazing hard, insightful and witty writing, and all of these amazing women! One of my new favorites.

This was truly exceptional. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

What a fantastic collection of graphic biographies of of amazing women you may or may not have heard of through history. I loved that all the women were just given a few pages but those pages were more then enough to showcase how amazing they all were. Some of the women were familiar to me like Hedy Lamar, Temple Grandin, Josephine Baker and Mae Jemison. Others I was not aware of and am now glad to know about. I loved the story of the Shaggs and Frances Glessner Lee as well as many others. Fantastic and enthralling!
