I loved that there is such a wide range of women in here, covering long periods of time and swaths of the world. There were so many women I didn't know, which is both inspiring and depressing.

I love this book!!! It has 29 biographies of important women in graphic-novel format. Each chapter is only 3-8 pages long, but there is a lot of information packed into that small space! I love that it covers women from across cultures, time periods, societal backgrounds, and professions. Some are very famous, such as Nellie Bly and Hedy Lamarr, but there were many I had not heard of before! Each woman profiled changed the world in an important way.
Some of my favorites from this book are Sonita Alizadeh, the Afghani teenager who writes rap songs about women's rights; Katia Krafft, whose life work was studying volcanoes; Thérèse Clerc, who fought for women's rights in France and started "Baba Yaga" retirement homes for women; Frances Glessner Lee, who greatly contributed to forensic science training for police in America; Naziq al-Abid, a Syrian political and women's rights activist in the early 20th century; and Agnodice, a woman in ancient Greece who disguised herself as a man in order to receive medical training.
At the end of the book, the authors lists "Thirty More Rebel Ladies"...maybe we'll get a sequel? :)
While this book may sound similar to [b:Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Tales of Extraordinary Women|33016249|Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 100 Tales of Extraordinary Women|Elena Favilli|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1479609660s/33016249.jpg|53652027], I liked Brazen much better because it goes into more depth and has a consistent, enjoyable art style throughout.

This was a fun little look back at history. Not all the stories are fun, but they're all interesting. The illustrations are really good and added a lot to the story.
