As someone who is just getting into F1, I really enjoyed this. However it does read very “Wattpaddy” / cringey and it doesn’t read as someone who really knows the F1 world. It sounds like it was written by a fan. Which would be fine but even I know that certain terminology is wrong or that just certain things don’t happen. Also it seems as though this book was trying to copy actual F1, rather than a made up version and so it just didn’t compare. For example it seems that this book was trying to be Charles Leclerc, when really it’s more Max Verstappen. It just wasn’t 5 star material.

I did enjoy the whole “brother’s enemy” trope though. That was fun. Also the relationship between Maya and Noah felt very believable. Would still recommend for someone who is looking for a light/slightly steamy, sports romance.

Well.... Noah and Maya didn't have any chemistry and their back and forth was annoying. I was more interested in Sophie and Liam as couple, and supporting characters like Jax and Santi.

Formula 1 and romance books. Two of my greatest loves in the world. Separately they already have my heart, so imagine my sheer joy when I stumbled across this series of F1 romance books. Needless to say I was sold right from the start.

If there is one thing Lauren Asher knows how to do, it is writing swoon-worthy characters. When I tell you I fell head over heels for Noah Slade, I think that might be a grove understatement. Noah captured my heart right from the very first page. This broody, angsty little man with a troubled past and parent issues had pole position in the race straight to my heart and oh boy did he take it home. I mean, c'mon, you're telling me this man is willing to go to therapy to become a better person for her and for himself after she calls him out on his behaviour and I was not supposed to fall for him?? Let's stay realistic here, a girl can only have so much restraint.

Maya Alatorre reminded me of myself in so many ways. Our mutual love for travelling, exploring the beautiful things the world has to offer (including, but not limited to, handsome F1 drivers) and her unconditional love for sangria's and paella. She has the biggest heart, always open to seeing the best in people and giving them second chances when deserved. She seems like the type of person I'd absolutely love to be friends with.

This book was the perfect introduction to this series. I loved the way the characters from the next books in this series made their appearances throughout this story and I truly can't wait to read what they get up to. This book reminded me how beautiful love can be and it effectively made me me shed a few tears by the end. Let's see what more Lauren Asher has in store.
