I was hesitant when i started reading this book as its not usually the type of book i read. However the book paints a beautiful story of loss, life and love. The way its written sets it aside from many other stories written today

fun adventure novel with three seperate stanzas with three moderately separate themes. good coming of age themed but certain elements (as a reflection of the time it was written) pulled me out of the story.

really enjoyed the gold rush element of it and less so the “discovery of love” phase because it seemed characters didn’t maintain their established traits. however, first book of a trilogy so willing to believe that this may develop in future novels. will certainly be reading #2 at some point in the future, but not immediately.
