This one was harder for me to finish than the first.
Spoiler
I felt there were missed opportunities with Lexa's accident. For it to just be a random accident seems too easy, maybe that will come back later? I did feel that talking about her will to come back to the living or not was an important storyline that isn't explored often and it was very sad. However, what made me rate this so low was the constant sex at inappropriate times. It got hard for me to keep reading. Yes this is a popular series based on the smut, but right when you're best friend dies and you are crying and sad was a little much.

Definitely recommend this series!
I rated the first book 5 ⭐️ and I was not surprised when this followed in its footsteps.
It dives deeper into the relationship between Persephone and Hades, which was done beautifully, any fights they had made sense to the story and were resolved in an understanding way.
I also enjoyed reading about Persephone’s further journey with her fate, her career and the idea of being Queen. They progressed as expected from the first story to this, but watching her growth was enjoyable.
Also, trigger warning for the book, but it does deal with suicide and attempted SA. I am fine reading about these topics but just a fyi for anyone who wants to read and may struggle with these. I did think they were done well though, felt like they could exist in real life but also did may sense in the storyline, especially with the suicide storyline, which was necassary for Persephone’s development and relationship with Hades.
Overall I highly recommend reading this series, and I am excited to start the next one.

DNF at 36%.
Persephone was getting annoyed and found out how the rest of the series goes so I will DNF the series now

I’m so invested, this series is my new obsession. I didn’t sleep to finish this book, I just couldn’t put it down. I loved the relatable toxicity, that there were stakes, the angst, that I felt deceived and obviously Hades my love, what can I say? My lord leaves me speechless, I can’t get enough of him!
I got angry so many times, and horny, and sad, and happy, and I screamed at the book, and shut it closed to breathe, and wanted to throw it, but I just couldn’t stop reading.
Also I adore Hermes, that smug impertinent and unfiltered bastard had me laughing too many times. (I think I prefer Persephone’s povs but that might be because I’m a simp like her)
