Decent read, but had an anticlimactic ending. I hate it when the author writes that a character makes it out alive and you're left to wonder how and then the action of the story is told by a character recalling what happened. Otherwise, the plotline is good enough to keep you reading and wondering what will happen next. Unfortunately, this series starts off with two great books and then gets worse with the next two.

Meh.

I think this author understook Lisbeth less. While an interesting story, lots of intrigue, a page turner.... he didn't spend enough time in her head.

Lisbeth Salander is back! Her badassery is as strong as it has ever been! That said, there seems to be something missing with this story. It has all the usual Salander elements: mystery, intrigue, psuedo-romance and hard core fight sequences, but it felt empty somehow. I walked in to this story knowing that I'm NOT reading a Stieg Larsson book, but his characters and his soul were definitely missed. This would be a great stand alone novel, but as continuation of the series it misses the mark for me.

I'm still not sold on the series, but I felt like Lagercrantz picked up fairly seamlessly from Larsson's work.

Felt thin and was not a very good adaptation of everything Larsson started.
mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: N/A

Not as good as the originals.

Not quite Stieg Larssen but I felt it did the characters justice and continued the original trilogy. Not sure how I feel about them continuing with more...

While I saw some definite differences in writing style, DL still did an excellent job with continuing this series. I mean, it’s a totally different writer so it can’t be exactly the same way. Like replacing a lead singer in a band and expecting the exact same sound. But this was very entertaining, a tad bit deliciously dark & a real page turner.
