The Girl in the Spider's Web felt out of place compared to the first 3 books in the Millennium series. The characters didn't feel right, and the plot was half-baked. It wasn't that the book is bad, it just felt dime store generic and thus disappointing. Your mileage may vary.

An ok story, but compared to the original Salander/Blomkvist stories this book was a little lacking. I stisll enjoyed it for the most part and if David Lagercrantz were to write another story in this series I would probably read it.

Brilliant. A must read for Lisbeth Salander fans. More insight into her personality and a taut thrilling plot make this a winner all the way. Never a dull moment.

This was a very satisfying read. I'd been holding off on reading this because I wasn't sure Lagercrantz would match Larsson's style to my satisfaction, and I'm very pleasantly surprised. I don't think this was quite as involved as Larsson's plots, and it felt shorter, like Larsson managed to pack more information in less space, but we also didn't get 10 pages of Lisbeth putting together IKEA furniture, so I'll take it. It's also considerably less graphically violent. I'll definitely go on with the other two books and see where the journey takes me.

I've read part 1, 2 and 3, but this (part 4) was disappointing. It starts very slowly, with many names in the beginning, and it doesn't get any better. 1½ star.

I was reluctant to read this since it was written by a different author but was drawn into the story and the characters pretty well. The story in done in the same multi level way but you can tell that it is not in the same "voice" as Larsson. The story feeds into Lisbeth's background and childhood and fills in some much needed gaps for those who loved the first 3. I did enjoy it overall.
