Not as enjoyable as books one and two in this series but I still enjoyed the story.

This was good but not like the last two. February is going to be the of binging Heath's backlist.

Got a third through this and I am deeply bored. Not sure westerns are for me, honestly.

Austin has been released from prison after serving 5 years for a crime he didn't commit, but when he returns home he finds out that his sweetheart that was supposed to wait for him married his best friend instead. He decides he has nothing better to do than clear his name after he's attacked in the bar that night.
On his way to Austin he stumbles across Loree after his horse is hurt and he trades her manual labor for a bowl of stew and sleeping in her barn. Loree has been living alone with her dog since her family was murdered 5 years earlier, she hasn't been back inside the barn since that night but because it's storming and the barn is full of holes she goes out to check on Austin and finds him feverish, she brings him inside and tends to him for a few days. Things happen and Austin keeps coming back to see her until she tells him she's pregnant and they marry.
This is probably the sweetest of the story in this trilogy, but it wasn't much of a mystery even though it's part of the plotline. I loved both MC's being cinnamon rolls and how they help each other move on from their respective pasts.
