There's always a certain peacefulness I get from japanese authors. Although the themes I read are usually dark, the way it's written is monotone in a peaceful kind of way. Maybe that's why I tend to go back to them. Sometimes I find myself reading them and getting lost.

I've always known about Murakami books but this is the first time I finished one of his works. The story was complex and I was scared I'd hate the ending. The last few chapters really took a turn and I felt like questioning everything I read. I loved it.

I’ve read a few Murakami books before this, and I love his story building and writing style. But god the way he writes about women is exhausting and takes me out of the story
