I don’t think I’ve ever hated a character in a book before.

This one did it.

Good twists and turns throughout. Solid read - disturbing if you’re into that kind of thing.

Justice for strawberry blondes.

the plot twist got me good. brutal book. cannibalism (but not the main focus). clearly and easily supposed to/able to hate the brother/mother but the dad was honestly the one that pissed me off more than anything. don’t just sit there. do something.

this read like a horror movie but instead of slash and gore this "texas chainsaw massacre" and "the hills have eyes" hillbilly family story brings an in-depth analysis of who the two brothers are and why they are like that - there's still a bit of gore in there, don't worry, but it wasn't just thrills and kills. you know what's coming the whole time, you see the writings on the wall, but you can't help but feel bad when it finally comes to the conclusion. also, don't fucking hitchhike, let's leave that in the 70s yeah?
