DNF: Page 78. The beginning of this book was amazing and I was really loving it but then I slowly stared loosing interest. I've picked up a few times and made no progress so I don't think I'll give this another try.

This book took me by surprise. I loved the King’s Dark Tidings series, so I was eager to read a new release by Kel Kade. This book has a lot of world building, a lot of character development, and a lot of twists that make me feel like book 2 will be where the story really takes off as intended. My biggest recommendation is to go back and re-read the prologue after you’ve finished the book because it definitely has a lot more to it than you might originally think

This is next level fantasy world building, not Tolkien level, but close. It still borrows from different branches of mythology but Kel manages to create her own characters and tell her own story. This isn't your typical Hero's Journey; it may not even be the tale of the hero. Nonetheless, I am excited to see where this story goes and can't wait for book two.
