Not sure how I feel about this one...or the fact that I read the whole thing. Not bad outright but not really good?

What a perfect way to show a true classic story.
Very short and enjoyable.
Fully animated.
In the beginning, all the characters are labelled so we can tell them apart.
Kept true to the story and I fell in love once more.

This was a fun little adaptation of P&P into manga form, but it's a little too cutesy and "teen drama" for me. There are roses and hearts everywhere, and the character's facial expressions and actions are too overly dramatic.

I mean, if someone is going to collapse into a chair from illness, is it really necessary for them to pitch headlong to the floor in a flurry of curly hair and roses, and with their cloak fluttering behind them? haha! They couldn't just sit down in a chair and faint like a normal person?

I did not like how Darcy's character was drawn so austere and dark. They could have softened him a little, I think. Same thing for Mr. Bennett. He looks very harsh.
Most of the other characters were perfectly drawn though! Their looks really reflected their personalities. I really liked how Elizabeth and Jane were portrayed.

Of course, any adaptation like this is going to be so watered down that the story is barely there, and the elegance of the original story is mostly lost. But it was very cute and enjoyable! It certainly made me laugh. I loved the chibi panels that were inserted between chapters. So funny!

This would be a good manga to introduce 7-12 year olds to classics!

There were some obvious deviations from the actual plot in the language and in general, but it's pretty cute art and I like the drawing style.

I actually ended up liking this version of Pride & Prejudice more than the original. It gave me very nostalgic feels, as I have not read a manga since high school. I am glad that I checked this out from the library and would love to read other Manga Classics in the future!

If there was anything I liked about this book, it was the fact that it had me laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of it. The only real similarities this adaption holds with the classic novel would be the basic story and the basic outlines of the characters.

The art seemed overdone, the size of the eyes often didn't match all too well with the face (as my sister noted with Darcy) and Mr. Collins seemed to be an overall joke character, both in actions and appearance. to the point where he's eating a stereotypical chunk of meat during a ball.

I didn't particularly like the adaption of the characters, particularly the change in Elizabeth's character. Aside from her basic actions in the plot-line I see no real resemblance with the original character and instead am given a female lead that seems to be crying every few pages or so.

And quite honestly? Darcy's appearance freaked me out, a casual hello made him look menacing, not handsome.

Being a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice, I of course had to pick this up. I have loved Pride and Prejudice for a long time and I got this for my birthday last year. It wasn't until now, when I had Pride and Prejudice assigned as the final reading for a class that I picked this up. Seeing as I had recently re-read the whole of Pride and Prejudice less than 6 months ago, I wanted to read this. It was a much faster reading experience but no less enjoyable! The story of Pride and Prejudice transcends the ages and is one that I adored. I loved the art style in this manga! I laughed so hard when I saw Mr. Collins because how he was drawn was EXACTLY what I was thinking and I found is hilarious. I loved every second of reading this manga and can't wait to pick up the manga classics for the other Jane Austen novels.

An excellent adaptation, and more exemplary than boiled potatoes if you can believe it.
