I wonderful way of blending history, and fantasy! An amazing adventure lies in these pages! This is one of the best series I have gotten the pleasure to read! I got the first one from the library and I couldn't get the others fast enough.

Pages were turning so fast I was happily surprised the book didn't catch fire!

I recommend it to entertain, but don't expect it to knock your socks off.

Conflicted. This just didn't keep my attention enough to warrant a higher rating. There were too many historical references just thrown in that it felt like I was reading a history book instead of fiction. The twins were annoying, the boy especially, and the constant full names at the beginning of every section drove me batty. WE KNOW THEIR NAMES ALREADY. All crappiness aside, the last quarter of the book had some good action, so I may choose to continue with the series.

Fun

Part Harry potter, part Percy Jackson. Enjoyable read. I like how the author explains historical events as magical clashes between the characters.

To be fair, I'm not a big fantasy fan. This had some pretty cool concepts about ancient people being advanced in the use of energy & auras so that they could accomplish things that we are not able to acheive today with our technology. I think fans of Harry Potter or even Twilight (for the fantasy/humans with magic powers aspect of it) might be into this. It's fine for older kids & teens.

Could have been a fun adventure. But I did not enjoy the writing. Big ol DNF

Feels like it took awhile for things to get going in this, but I realized that when I first started, I couldn't really settle down to read, but once I did, I read fast because the story is great! On to book 2.
