This was ok for what it is: a young adult romantic comedy.
It’s littered with what’s supposed to be book and teen lingo, which sometimes is cringy. But overall, it’s a light hearted story where the nerdy dorky girls ends up with the hot class clown. There is some sexual content (which I don’t think it needed), so young readers and parents should be aware.
I would recommend this to high school readers and teens with a parent about to remarry after the death or divorce of their first spouse. I might also reccomend to a teen whose parent lost a job. These are two conflicts that each of the main characters are facing, and I feel like having a story that shows the reality of processing these things might help some readers. Although again, I would want them about minor sexual content.
I didn’t care for the narrator of the audiobook, but that has more to do with personal preference. She wasn’t boring, I was just annoyed at some parts of her performance (but that could also be because I am not a young adult yet this is a YA novel).
Story structure is sound, the action is entertaining, there is obvious character growth, and except for the cringy slang/lingo at times, the characters are lovable.

DNF at 80% when my library loan ran out. I wasn’t that motivated to finish it, though.
Moderate: Death of parent
Minor: Alcohol and Sexual content
