This was a very quick and enjoyable read that deftly established an intriguing world, interesting characters, and posed several questions that I imagine will be answered over the course of the series. It is shorter than I expected and really only feels like the first part of a novel, but I guess that's why they call it a novella. My one complaint as a consumer is that my plain ol' Kindle can't display the color illustrations and there's no link to view them separately. Eventually it occurred to me to download the Kindle app and I was able to see them that way, but it's a little inconvenient and I would suggest including an illustration download link for purchasers in future volumes.
