I read this when I was in high school, for a class. It was one of my first encounters with an unreliable narrator, and I don’t think I was prepared or equipped to contend with it. Maybe I should reread this.

My favourite Edgar A Poe story this wicked murderous plot is all the more fascinating for wondering why Montresor lures Fortunado so diabolically to end him, what slight did he make to the Montresor name for such a pre-meditated lure to have occurred?
