This will be a 3 book review because I read them all back-to-back.

This girl Lola has my heart. Her whole world has been destroyed consistently over and over again as a child. Betrayed by her family. That's bound to have some lasting effects. And like all people she developed some coping mechanisms. It just so happens that a little bit of murder is hers.

Unfortunately murdering the wrong man or at least one that's heavily connected has some unforeseen consequences. Then again Lola knew that this life wasn't one for the years it had a shelf life.

So she Makes the best of her situation and has has some fun while she waits for her execution date.

While her harem, made up of the bothers of her victim and the body guards, teeters back-and-forth between wanting to sleep with her and wanting to kill her she just enjoys the ride.

Between dealing with the cause of her pain a rival mafia and the father of her victim Lola has a lot of unfinished business to handle before she is offered by the men giving her the best orgasms of her life.

The plot of book 2 was slow. There were a few monologues and a lot of growth between the four characters. We learn more about Lolas past and we start to see how she became who she is. There is definitely more steam. Overall I could take it or leave it but I keep reading because I want to see how her story resolved

I wasn’t as enamoured with this book as the first one. The main character went from talking like Harley Quinn in the first book to nearly Elizabethan in this one. (Ex. “I cried, for I would never see him again” type deal.)

Secondly, the main character really doesn’t understand consent. If she’s been killing men at bars to prove that drunk women can’t give consent, then surely that is the same for if they were sleeping, no? This girl forces herself on a sleeping man and when he asks her to get off, she refuses... Effing hypocrite.

Oh, and a cliffhanger.

No strong representation of diverse characters or minority identities.

Safety Rating: Safe with Exceptions

• No cheating
• No OM drama
– Although, there is drama about Viper being part of the Harem.
• Does have OW drama
– Maddox's ex-lover Mina approaches him at a club when Lola is in the bathroom; Mina dirty dances on Maddox and kisses him when she sees Lola approaching. Lola beats the crap out of her for it.
• Does have the Heroes pushing the Heroine away
• No separation

Possible Triggers: YES

• Murder
– Heroine is a serial killer and doesn't really care if her victims are actually bad guys (she only kills men, though)
– All the men in this book kill people
• Gratuitous violence, including blood and gore
– Includes rough sex; there's also one scene with knife-play and two with strangling
• Suicidal ideation, including a suicide attempt
• R@pe
– including incest (memories)
– in the present (Lola is r@ped by Tony) but off-page

Ending:
Cliffhanger
