I adored this book so much. It’s so refreshing to read a book about a character who doesn’t want a relationship beyond one night stands but ISN’T a total jackarse at the start.
Right from the beginning we know Jordan is a player so to speak but she never pretends to be anything other than herself and she never misleads the women she sleeps with or pretends to offer them more than she is willing to give. Her respect for women is obvious and damn that made me love her from the very get go.
Also, the dynamics and chemistry between the two characters, Jordan and Emma, is totally believable and unravels in such natural and beautiful ways.
They have so much more in common than just Sexual attraction.
Molly is such a wonderful 5/6 year old, a brilliant representation of many kids her age I’ve known in real life.
The writing of this book is fabulous as I laughed and swooned and just about melted over the seemingly small things these characters do for each other. This is one of the most beautiful books I’ve read that shows so perfectly the dynamics of what makes a healthy relationship work.
A fantastic slow burn, with low angst and wonderful character growth.

I Fell Too

This was a very good read. Jae is a master of timing and character development and her powers are put to good use in this novel. I will definitely be rereading this book.

Surgeon Dr. Jordan Williams was not the kind to settle down. When the newly divorced Emma Larson moved in next door with her daughter Molly, she was the last person Jordan needed to get involved with. But after Jordan was injured in an accident, Emma volunteered to look after her. Nothing would happen, right?

The highlight of the story was definitely Molly. She was five and did a lot of random stuff that were sometimes exasperating and mostly heartwarming. Tiny humans are so unsuspecting and pure that they do the cutest things. I felt myself grinning at the interactions between Jordan and Molly.

Also, I appreciate Jae's inclusion of the awesome Black main character Jordan. Wlw romance definitely deserves more diversity. I consider Falling Hard and Heart Trouble as the same series where Jordan's friend Dr. Hope Finlay fell in love with Iranian-American Laleh Samadi. However, I hope to read more own voices books.

Falling Hard is a very cute romance involving family and mutual respect between partners and friends. It was a fun read.
