A great stand-alone mystery by the Queen herself. The reveal at the end is condensed, and I would have loved to see the reaction of the guilty party when confronted. Still entertaining, definitely worth the read!
A quick audiobook, lovely for sitting in the car in traffic. Rosemary Barton died a year ago, an apparent suicide - she took cyanide at her birthday party in a restaurant. A year later, there are doubts: did lovely, brainless Rosemary who loved life really take her own life in a flu-caused depression? Over a breakup with a lover? With cyanide, not the most painless of drugs? Or was she murdered? Her widower starts receiving anonymous letters hinting Rosemary was murdered. Her sister, who inherited her money, is vaguely worried about the whole thing - but she's falling in love with one of Rosemary's former admirers ...
I like this one, told from multiple points of view. Because you see the various characters' points of view, even the more unlikable characters gain some sympathy ... and the author is scrupulously careful to give you the clue to the solution in it's proper place if you are smart enough to see it.
