i think i made a mistake in only reading the ms marple books. this was so much better, a lot richer and more interesting. the characters were really well developed and i actually could keep track of them because they had more than one defining feature. i did hate all the men in this though, definitely the time period, but god so misogynistic.

Primer libro de un año en el que espero retomar el hábito de la lectura. Nunca he sentido especial interés por las novelas policiacas, aunque en cierto momento leí Sherlock Holmes. Me gustó y ya. Desde el primer momento en que empecé este libro me atrapó; he de decir que en lo que se refiere a historias soy bien chismosa, pero no necesariamente porque me interese descubrir la verdad, para eso solo tendría que irme al final y leer las últimas líneas. Amo a los autores que pueden crear ambientes envolventes a través de su narrativa, te involucran, te dan detalles, te interesan, te hacen disfrutar las horas que demoras leyendo su historia. Eso fue lo que Agatha Christie me ofreció en estos últimos días del 2023, un año en el que hice muchas cosas, pero leí poco. Tengo anotadas unas cuantas lecturas de ella para este 2024, y espero poder cumplir la meta de completar un TBR mas curado y un poco mas realista.

I had about 20 different theories on who the murderer was and how the murder happened, and by the end, of course, they were all wrong. I always end up thinking 'why didn't i think of that?!' at the end of Christie's books, and this was no exception. Another brilliant book by her.

Very clever and a bit different from her usual style. I managed to guess who was behind the murder, but had no idea how right until the big reveal.
