Black Abundance! Thought provoking and raw.

I was really excited for this one but it fell flat for me. It felt like a series of disjointed stream-of-consciousness journal entries rather than a coherent memoir, with minimal reflection. I also really just don't want to hear about the sexual escapades of teenagers, especially when it's the private business of people other than the author
who seems to not want to acknowledge that this girl he knew was raped
.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been drawn in and completely absorbed in a book the way I was with this one.

I need to process this more but I can say I think anyone who has an opportunity to read this book should. Important, powerful, and beautifully written. Gorgeous prose.

Beautiful writing. Highly recommend to listen to it. The entire book feels like a poem

The most honest thing I’ve ever read about how lies and secrets are held in our bodies.

I normally don’t read memoirs but this read like a novel and was so beautiful. I tested up multiple times while reading (and cried). This felt so deeply personal and his themes resonated with me a lot.

Astoundingly brilliant writing and a rip-your-guts our narrative.

It’s a great book and well written, it just wasn’t personally my thing.
